The Post-Surgical Heel Shoe (Barouk type) is an orthopedic footwear designed to offload pressure from the front part of the foot (forefoot), transferring body weight to the heel during gait.
Indications
- Recovery from forefoot surgeries: bunion correction (Hallux Valgus), hammer or claw toes, and osteotomies.
- Treatment of injuries and trauma: metatarsal or phalangeal fractures, and soft tissue injuries in the front of the foot.
- Use with bulky dressings: bandaged feet, plaster casts, or post-operative bandages, without compressing the operated area.
- Plantar ulcers: pressure relief for ulcers in the forefoot area (common in diabetic patients).
How it works
Efficient weight offloading: the design with a heel/posterior cup and a wedge sole ensures the front part of the foot does not touch the ground, protecting the surgical site. Wide and versatile adjustment: fully adjustable Velcro straps that adapt to the volume of the dressing and allow for complete opening, making it easier to put on and take off without pain. Stability and safety: the non-slip sole reduces the risk of falls and ensures greater steadiness when walking during the rehabilitation period.
